Alex focuses on interplay of texture, color, shape, and mark making to find luminous movement. Works embody a term derived from a Neo-Impressionist cognate to help convey his interest in time, light and color: Chronoluminarism. Paintings emerge as manifestations of the powerful creative force beyond our literal field of vision and become delineations of spiritual emanation. The artwork investigates the complex experience of a moment as well as the energy and aura of the world with which we interact.
